Blog 1: August 24-28

NB Nursery class had a very successful first week at school. The objectives of this week were primarily to familiarize ourselves with the students, staff and classroom through exploring and practicing routines. While some members of our class have been to school before, other members are new to school. Therefore, these first few weeks will be critical in getting everyone caught up with the basic rules and expectations of coming to school.

Our class has used puppet shows, demonstrations and songs to help us learn the following:
  • Always keep your hands to yourself
  • Always help your teacher tidy up
  • Always tell an adult if something is bothering you
  • Always share toys and equipment
  • Always follow the adult's instructions
  • Always use kind words
As parents, you can help at home by discussing and demonstrating these expectations.

This week, we will be reviewing basic shapes and colors through singing, sorting activities, art and design, and maths. Here are two songs that we will cover in class:

Finally, here are some photo highlights from the week!
