This week we have continued talking about farm
animals and played a game where students listen to the sound of a farm animal and then find the
appropriate animal on our farm wall in pairs.
When talking together about the
sounds that farm animals make, the cow is always a favorite for everyone, so we
decided to help the students to make cow masks. Students are getting much
better at naming which animal makes which sound now.
This
past week, we have continued to create our artwork for the Art Expo this coming
June 21st. Each student will
create their own butterfly and we will create a giant flower for all our
butterflies together as a collaborative piece of art. Students are being introduced to symmetry art
and print making through the butterfly paintings and color mixing for the
collaborative flower.
We had a great time playing the fly
butterfly game where students sing and dance to the "fly fly the butterfly" song with their numbered butterflies then
find the matching number chair when the music stops. It's a great review for numbers 1-5 while having lots of fun too.
